ROBERT PLANT - EX LED ZEPPELIN - 1988 INTERVIEW.

Robert Plant interviewed by Gareth Morlais on March 16, 1988 at the Newport Centre, Newport, south Wales, just before a gig to promote his newly-launched LP Now and Zen. Questions about Bron yr Aur (doesn't mean what I thought it meant), Hammer of the Gods, Honeydrippers, playing with Jimmy Page, Band of Joy, All About Eve, The Mission, Roger Taylor, David Coverdale, etc.

MAGNUM INTERVIEW (1988)

Bob Catley (vocals) and Tony Clarkin (guitars & vocals) of Magnum interviewed by Gareth Morlais before their gig at St David's Hall, Cardiff, at the time of the release of their single 'Days of No Trust' in 1988. Duration: 9 minutes.

LENNY WOLF OF KINGDOM COME INTERVIEW

LENNY WOLF OF KINGDOM COME INTERVIEW by Gareth Morlais before their gig at St David's Hall, Cardiff, in 1988. They were promoting their debut LP and supporting Magnum on their Wings of Heaven tour. Led Zeppelin comparisons were bound to be made. Lenny was on such a high after a great gig that he didn't seem to mind that question.

FRANCIS DUNNERY OF IT BITES INTERVIEW

FRANCIS DUNNERY OF IT BITES INTERVIEW by Gareth Morlais on 16 March 1988 just before the band's gig at the Newport Centre, Newport, south Wales to promote their second LP Once Around the World. The band had had a hit with Calling all the Heroes and I'd really noticed the musicianship - particularly the guitar playing - of this band. I was a fan of Francis Dunnery and the band. The difficult second album, in It Bites's case, was a virtuoso progressive piece, produced by Steve Hillage. Francis's frustration about the popularity of fairly brainless pop pap oozes out in this interview.

BUNDU BOYS INTERVIEW

BUNDU BOYS INTERVIEW - I'd gone to the Reading Rock Festival to interview the Welsh-speaking keyboard player of Bjork's band, The Sugarcubes. Along the way, there were many bonuses: meeting John Peel and speaking about Welsh music with him, hearing The Swans and New Order and interviewing this band: The Bundu Boys. Listen to the podcast:
